ENGL 107 – Final Remix Assignment—Getting Started

For this assignment, you will take the “text” of Paper 3 on helicopter parents and present this information in a web page.

How you organize this assignment is completely up to you. You do not have to write a new argument paper but rather take the information you have for your helicopter parents paper and present it in the different venue of the web page versus the standard academic paper.

This means you can copy and paste text from your Word file to insert it in your web page or pages.

Some items to think about:

¨ Web pages generally have some sort of navigation (links) to other pages—you could organize your navigation by sections of your paper or by arguments/points.

¨ It is better to have more “white space” on a page and not a lot of scrolling to read items lower on the page. Better to have two pages breaking up long segments of text.

¨ Consider how colors and fonts work to present a readable text.

¨ Web pages allow insertion of images and sound if you choose. You may want to find images and sound (MP3s work best) that enhance your argument.

¨ Ultimately, the design of this assignment is completely up to you as long as the majority of your information from your original helicopter paper is presented as a web page.

¨ Like any final product in an English class, this web page must use correct grammar and punctuation. In addition, it must use MLA format and documentation and include a Works Cited page/section.

¨ Like any final product in an English class, this web page be organized in a way that your reader can find your thesis, three main arguments, a counterargument and a refutation, a conclusion, and Works Cited information.

This project is worth 20% of your final grade and cannot be revised. It must be turned in as a web link in my digital dropbox no later than Wednesday at 5 pm of finals week.
