My History with the Computer

So everyone remembers the apple computer right?

The one with the green screen and pretty much was only used by children my age for the game oregon trail.

It looked kind of like this ---------------------------------------->

oldschool

Well that was where me and the computer first met. It was a glorius time to play Oregon Trail and be in the 3rd grade. Just to refresh your memory, this is what Oregon Trail looked like on the old school apple computers:

Starting from when I was little we always had some sort of computer in our house since my dad was a computer programmer. I would spend my free time at school playing Oregon Trail and my nights playing Inspector Gadget (since, again, my parents did not believe in cable television). We had a nintendo, but I had a younger brother who hogged it, so it was me and the computer.

So I guess that you can say that me and the computer have quite a history. In the previous page I stated that I could live without my cell phone. Well, now, I will be honest and say that life without a computer would be quite odd. This is most likely because of my early relationship with it and my dependence on it for entertainment. As I grew older, the computers got newer. I began to learn about software and downloads. I started to type my homework instead of write it, talk to my friends via various messenger services, and search anything and everything. Without other forms of technological advances to work with, I latched onto the computer. I taught myself what everything in the start menu meant and was linked to and even took a keyboarding class as my only elective in high school. Google became my best friend. I still to this day rely on Google and have never typed in yahoo.com to my search bar.io

I feel much differently about the computer than about cell phones or television because it has always been there for me. It always will be there for me to destress and play games just like when I was little. smiley
