a picture of all CIWIC participants from 2005

The group photo to the right includes participants in the 2005 CIWIC workshop (both CIWIC and CIWIC-NM together). An essential component of all of the workshops under discussion is the strong sense of community they foster. Not only is it difficult to imagine CIWIC starting and thriving without Cindy Selfe, it is difficult to imagine that this webtext itself would have been possible without our past experiences with Cindy Selfe.

We return to our institutions after these workshops equipped with a greater appreciation for technology and teaching, but perhaps even more importantly with a network of individuals with whom we can rely for support and for collaboration.

The websites for the 1994-2003 versions of CIWIC are still available courtesy of The Wayback Machine. A quick browse through the different years demonstrates the affordances available at the time, another reminder not to get too swept in the technology versus the overall rhetorical and critical understandings of technologies.

The website for the 2005 iteration of CIWIC, the last one held at Michigan Tech, is still currently active. We also archive screenshots of it below.
