Geoffrey V. Carter is a Ph.D. Candidate in Rhetoric and Composition at Purdue University. He is completing a dissertation entitled Re-Reading and Re-Writing Bloc/ks: Teaching Multi-modal Literacies Through An Apprenticeship in Proper Names (David Blakesley, chair) that further considers the play of signatures described in this work. He does so with the goal of offering an alternative to cognitive descriptions of "having writer's block" by helping students develop varying "bibliographic networks" or "bloc/ks."
