Multiliteracy Centers: Writing Center Work, New Media, and Multimodal RhetoricEdited by: David M. Sheridan and James A. Inman |
||||||
Jackie Grutsch McKinney sums up the possibilities and constraints of implementing an all-in-one center (AIO) in her chapter, “The New Media (R)evolution: Multiple Models for Mutliliteracies.” She argues that multiliteracy centers cannot subscribe to one particular model for operation. Instead, by focusing on her home institution’s center, McKinney suggests that multimodal centers function by assessing the needs of their own population and building and operating centers in such fashion. She also brings awareness to a budgetary model for operating a center, and recommends that universities proceed with building an AIO center if their “technology and equipment budget” allow for AIO development.
