When students log-in to the Cluster Journal, one of the first things they view is their class.  Reinforcing online community and team building, students can read each others' journal.

The Cluster Journal is based on clusters of three students.  This design allows for students to form a close-knit intellectual community over the term of a course.   The pedagogy and design of this journal literally makes three journals in one.  Only in the cluster of three can students write and respond to their clustermates' ideas.

Teachers can shift students from one cluster to another or from one class to another.  This allows pan- and cross-disciplinary teaching possibilities.  It also allows teachers to shift cluster groups based on evolving classroom themes and novels.

"The Cluster Journal is the most popular because of the community, classroom and clustermate trust it fosters."
