This ironic twist was not on the IRB list of data we planned to study. It occurred while trying to follow the IRB plan, but became something I could not let go. I saw it as a story detail I wanted to play with, not a fact I wanted to analyze. John the storyteller alongside Paul the scientist is how we describe our conference papers. That simple binary felt like the academically approved way to tell the story. The Shovczon web text is an attempt to move beyond that binary.
