A difficult question: “I already know that I am an inadequate writer when holding only a pen in my hand. Why must you force me to use even more technology to prove the same point?”

This sort of responses is typical from students who may view reading and writing or a class focused on writing from a print-text notion of literacy. Teachers will often voice similar concerns as an excuse not to integrate new technologies into their classes. In a technological society, developing and practicing functional (i.e. technical) literacy is a necessity.  

Yoda's reply: “I am hoping to break the connection between what you already know in your head and what comes out of your finger tips. I want to work with the more inside of you than the what you already know.”
