Hosting a camp for 'tweens is not for the faint of heart. Gathering twenty-plus girls on a public university campus brings with it noise, confusion, and fatigue. In our experience, it also guarantees fun, engaged learning, new ways to understand the media around us and to experience ourselves through that media, and new spaces for troubling ideas about women online. What follows is the story of three iterations of a girls' technology camp spanning two coasts and made possible by an underlying commitment to feminist mentorship.
